AIFAT SELATAN MAYBRAT // MEDIATNI-POLRI.COM / MediaHabema – One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 501/Bajra Yudha Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Maybrat Regency, Papua Barat Daya Province.
On Sunday, 29 December 2024, the 501 Patrol Team from the Kotis Susumuk Post visited Sorry Village, Aifar Selatan District, and conducted Social Communication (Komsos) during the areal protection activities.
Emphasizing the pivotal role of the community, Lieutenant Colonel Yakhya Wisnu Arianto, Commander of the 501 Task Forces, stressed the importance of the Task Forces’ focus on the community’s fundamental needs in the assigned area.
Therefore, on Thursday, the Soldiers took advantage of their task by helping the Sorry residents through social communication.
By conducting the communication, the Soldiers learned about developing security conditions and the difficulties the Sorry residents were experiencing.
By prioritizing security during activities, harmonious interactions between TNI Soldiers and residents have resulted in a close relationship between the two parties.
The community members were very enthusiastic about welcoming the presence and help from the 501 Task Forces.
One of them, Rio Mujizau, expressed his impression: “Praise God, thank you, Commander 501. God bless.”
Upon receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, commended the 501 Task Forces’ initiative to conduct social communication with residents of Sorry Village.
His words: ‘The 501 Task Forces’ initiative is a testament to TNI’s commitment to conduct inclusive Social Communication with all stakeholders to support accelerating development in the Papua region.’
